Shot Notes
Yesterday I attended the Flash In The Can 2011 converance in Amsterdam. Several creatives, designers, filmmakers and programmers talked about all kinds of online interactive experiences. It was great and very inspiring to witness their stories. The “Collapsus” project really made a big impact to me. Probably because this unique project becomes pretty actual these days with all the confusion going on in the middle east. I visited the Collapsus website and I can really advise you to do the same.
About Collapsus
Filmmaker Tommy Pallotta (Texas) presented us his creative ideas and moves behind his Collapsus project. Collapsus signals a new experience in transmedia storytelling, it combines interactivity, animation, fiction, and documentaries. This pioneering approach blends real documentary footage with mini-games and movie fragments, inviting you to choose your own perspective as the story unfolds.
Fiction vs. reality
In Collapsus characters interact and make decisions to avoid further power blackouts. Users gain a broader perspective by listening to the experts, or observing the consequences for everyday people through the fictional story. The goal for this project is to reach a younger audience about the complex issues surrounding global energy politics.
