Shot Notes

A detail from a big chunk of ice which I removed out of my water reservoir. This reservoir is an old wine barrel which is collecting rainwater from my roof. This mega ice cube was about 40 centimeter (+/- 15 inch) thick! I used a torch to create some extra texture and dynamic highlights in the frozen water bubbles.

I’m just an old chunk of coal
But I’m gonna be a diamond some day
I’m gonna grow in glory
‘Til I’m so blue pure perfect
I’m gonna put a smile on everybody’s face
I’m gonna kneel and pray everyday
Lest I should become vain along the way
I’m just an old chunk of coal, now Lord
But I’m gonna be a diamond some day

[Johnny Cash]

Intriguing pattern with all small bubbles and cracks in the ice

Neat abstract, I can see a likeness of several things here (a small tweeting bird, a little kitty and even a larger puppy with its eyes closed) maybe I should see a psychologist ;-)
