Last sunday at the coast. The tide was low giving lots of birds the opportunity to go look out for food. High and low tide is caused by the moon; If you are on the coast and the moon is directly overhead, you should experience a high tide. If the moon is directly overhead on the opposite side of the planet, you should also experience a high tide. Read more about the tide and moon here at HowStuffWorks.com.
